When I was young, everyone called them “Crockpot”. I have only recently discovered that this is actually an American brand name for a specific type of slow cooker. Q: What Can You Tell Me About Your Slow Cooker?
A: It is a Breville Avance Meal Maker 5. It has a 5 litre capacity. Removable crockery bowl and 3 heat/cooking settings. Cool to touch handles and a tempered glass lid.
Q: What Can You cook In It?
A: It is suitable for beef, lamb, veal, pork or chicken so far that I know of. I have made casseroles, soups and even desserts. Chicken cacciatore is a favorite in my house. I have also cooked pot roasts, curry’s, corned silverside and chilli con carne. Pasta dishes are also a breeze to make.
Q: Would You Say It Has Made Life Easier?
A: It has been a godsend to my family as its so easy to use. I just have to put in all my raw ingredients, choose the desired heating setting and it does the rest!
Q: What About The Washing Up?
A: The removable crockery bowl makes it easy and quick to clean. No abrasive cleaners steel wool or scourers are needed. For stubborn cooked on foods you simply soften with warm soapy water and allow to soak for 20 mins.It will then just wipe off freely with a dish cloth. Once clean you just put it back together with the lid on and store in the cupboard.
Q: Any Added Benefits?
A: The aromas from the meals I make just fill the house…YUM!!!
Once the dish is cooked, you can turn the setting to KEEP WARM for a Max of 2 hours until ready to serve.

A: It has made my life so easy and even my children(read biggest critics) enjoy the meals I make from it.

A: I would recommend my slow cooker to anyone with a busy lifestyle or even amateur chefs!
