1. Bean and Bacon Soup
- Ingredients
- 1 pound bacon
- 2 cups navy beans
- 1 cup carrot
- 2 cups potato
- 4 cups water
- 2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 large onions
- Celery
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Here’s how
Cook the beans for 2 hours, then drain. Cook the bacon for one hour, then drain. Saute onion, garlic in olive oil. Add carrot, potato, salt, onion, celery, water to the cooker. Cover and bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes, or until the carrots are tender. Now add bacon, bean and the rest of ingredients into the cooker. Cook on low heat for about 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Check the readiness to be sure that bean are soft and soup are thickened. Add more pepper as desired. Serve hot.
- Tips:
- It is better to soak bean overnight.
- If you have time, prepare cumin, coriander, fennel for better taste.
2. Beef Curry
- Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 tomato
- Here’s how
Saute beef in olive oil until all sides are golden brown in a frying pan. Remove from the pan, sprinkle pepper and salt. Place all the beef and the rest ingredients into the cooker. Cover and cook on low heat for 5 hours.
